Leo had a sleepover party on Saturday - Asher spent the night! Asher came over at 6 and Brad was conveniently at tennis (mmmmhmmm) so as soon as he came over, I swooped into mother hen mode to make sure he was comfortable and was having fun.
The boys had grilled cheese for dinner - Asher had a few bites (and a lot of juice in this cool cup from Grammy that lights up) and Leo ate and ate and ate, as per usual. Don't worry, I straightened Leo's tray from the picture below.
When Asher was done, he played in the living room while I hung out with Leo, then we played football in the dining room while Leo ate, then we read books while Leo ate...Leo enjoyed watching all of this. The only time Leo wasn't happy was when Asher had to go to the bathroom and Leo was left alone in the dining room.
I put Leo to bed with Asher's help, then we played together for about 45 minutes more. By that time Brad was home so we got him ready for bed, read him a book together, and brought him to his sleeping quarters. Erin brought a kids blow up mattress that looks like a little raft, and set it up in Leo's room. So Asher hesitantly got in the bed, under the covers with his stuffed animal, and I read/sang him another book. I let him sleep with the book too which he seemed to enjoy.
Leo woke up at 6:30am and Asher slept until 8:30! We kept going to check on him but alas, he was still asleep. Finally at 8:30 I peeked in the room and his eyes were open and the book was draped over his chest.
The boys helped us make breakfast - chocolate chip pancakes! We each tasted a chocolate chip to make sure everything was okay. We all approved, so we proceeded with the pancakes. You know how we can tell Asher is a Herman? He loved to dip his pancakes in the syrup!
Here are the boys helping us cook - Leo was sitting on this mat and Asher liked it because it was reall squishy, so he settled on in next to Leo. Note Asher is holding "matching" elephants, which he carried around all morning.
As I write this blog, I'm getting ready to head out to Morocco for almost 2 weeks. I spent a little extra time cuddling and playing with Leo this morning. We went for a long walk around the neighborhood then played at home. Here is a bonus video of Leo hanging out this morning. Check out his walking!
