Sleep, baby, sleep!

Look who slept through the night!!!

...once.  But now we know she can do it!  once day last week Gavi slept from 9pm-6:45am.  But I was up until 1am waiting for her to wake up and feed her so I still got minimal sleep.

Recently she's only been waking up 3 times to eat: 12:00am, 2/3am, 4/5am.  This week she has been blessing me with only waking up twice to eat.  We're sloooooowly getting there.  Maybe by the time she's 3 she'll sleep through the night.

Since she's 7.5 months old now, that means it's been at least 225 days since I've slept anything longer than 5 hours straight, and it's usually more like 2.5-3 hours straight.  Turns out people can function decently well with short spurts of sleep each night!  Definitely not idea though.

But you know what makes it worth it?  Looking at this little face at midnight, 2am, and 5am every night:

And looking down and seeing this sweet view while I nurse her(even though I'm also falling asleep in the chair), and the amazing baby snuggles I get when she's done:

She's been eating decently lately - we're trying Baby Led Weaning, meaning instead of purees, you give babies soft foods like avocado, sweet potatoes and bananas so they can pick them up and feed themselves and figure out solid foods.  The major idea is so they control how much they are eating and will stop eating when they're full.  Gavi has been trying a bunch of different foods and usually only gets a little bit in her mouth and does a lot of thumb sucking in her chair, but she's getting better at it.  Doesn't she look happy?

Bonus picture: random scene as we get ready for school in the morning.  Despite what it looks like, Leo isn't getting ready to body slam Gavi, WWE style.  He's just testing his limits and seeing what is and is not too high to jump from.  His bed is not too high.  Neither is the couch or the car seat or the stairs outside our house.

Leo continues to be an amazing big brother and is happy to show Gavi off to his friends at school!  The only time he's not happy with her is when she tries to touch his teddy (gasp)!
