Snow Day!

Let it snow, let it snow!  We had our first snow of the season a couple days ago and Leo COULD NOT WAIT to get out there and start playing!  I mean look at this excited kid:

And now take a look at this kid.  NOT excited.

She did not want to be put down, she did not want to stand in the snow, did not want to go in the sled, did not want to be here.  Where was the only place she wanted to be?  You guessed it, in my arms!

Leo also discovered the glory that is eating fresh snow:

But what DOES Gavi like?  Reaching for things on the counter.  That's right, this little nugget is now counter-height.  Hide the blueberries!

The next day, we headed outside, first thing in the morning, to make the most of the leftover snow before it went away.  And Leo discovered his next winter time treat, icicles!

We went sledding in the backyard this time (less steep hill but doesn't lead Leo directly into the street).  Check out this video of Leo in action:

Gavi stayed inside with Brad while he worked while Leo and I were outside for 20 minutes.  Look in the upper right window:

ENHANCE.  Look aaaall the way at the bottom of the window.
That's right, Gavi was watching us from her window.  I guess she'll be a future Chalet Bunny - staying inside, warm and by the fire, while others are out skiing - just like her mama.

Then we had a special guest reader at Silly School.  Unc!  Yep, that's what Leo calls Gabe now.  Gabe and Arielle are Unc and Aunt.  So Unc read Leo's all-time favorite story (and Gabe's too), The Lorax!  Thanks Unc!
